About University of Hull

The University of Hull is located in the beautiful city of Kingston Upon Hull in East Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. The University was founded in 1927 and now has more than 16,000 students and around 2,500 employees, including more than 1,000 academic staff. In research terms, the university is perhaps best known for developing the liquid-crystal technology. For that breakthrough, the university received the Queen's Award for Technological Achievement. In the 2014 national Research Excellence Framework (REF), 62% of the University's research was judged to be internationally excellent. The University's £28-million health campus, spearheaded by the state-of-the-art Allam Medical Building, was opened last September (2017) by the Queen of England. Hull city was named UK City of Culture 2017 and the Queen of England was part of the year-long celebrations.
